While I'm Far Away

As a songwriter, inspiration shows itself when we take a personal experience and find meaning to which others relate. It’s not unusual to suppress uncomfortable events that may unwittingly send us down an unforeseen life-altering path. My inspiration from a painful event did not surface until I fully understood the magnitude of what had transpired. That understanding came from intimate conversations I had with God about abortion over decades. When I came to experiencing forgiveness, and the realization that God takes all these unborn children to Heaven, I finally felt hope for MY future reunion and could sing about it.

This song’s lyrics were rewritten for a wider audience and sung by Marky Lennon in part one of THE JOURNEY HOME. Both versions were very heartfelt and meaningful in my life.
